What makes Visual Fence Pro different from other fence software?
Visual Fence Pro is the only fence design software with an interactive satellite map demo. Other tools require signup before you can see the product. We also offer automatic parcel boundary detection across all 50 US states + Puerto Rico + 10 Canadian provinces and territories (650+ data sources), real-time BOM calculation with 67 fence-style specifications across 5 categories, and a complete business suite including quotes, payments, work orders, and QuickBooks sync.
Do I need to install anything?
No installation required — Visual Fence Pro works in any browser on desktop, tablet, or mobile. We also offer a free Windows desktop app for contractors who prefer a dedicated window.
How accurate are the satellite measurements?
Satellite parcel boundaries give you a strong starting estimate, typically within a few feet of actual measurements. You can also manually adjust any segment length by dragging the endpoint handles for precision.
What fence types are supported?
Visual Fence Pro supports 67 fence styles across 5 categories: Wood (dog ear, picket, shadowbox, board on board, horizontal, louver, split rail, and more), Vinyl (privacy, picket, semi-privacy, ranch rail), Iron and Aluminum (flat top, spear top, puppy picket, ring top, and more), Chain Link (galvanized, vinyl coated, commercial, privacy slats), and Composite (privacy, horizontal, picket, simulated stone). Railings are coming soon. Each style includes dimensional specs for accurate BOM calculation.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in SOC 2-compliant cloud infrastructure, and isolated per company with row-level security. Only your team can access your data. We never share or sell contractor data.
Can I add a fence estimator to my own website?
Yes. The embeddable estimator widget is included on every paid plan (Starter, Pro, and Enterprise). Add one line of code to your website and visitors can select a fence type, enter their footage, and get an instant estimate. You receive the lead — name, email, phone, and fence details — instantly via email and in your dashboard. Enterprise removes the 'Powered by Visual Fence Pro' badge for fully white-labeled embeds.
Is there free fence design software?
Yes. Visual Fence Pro offers free fence design software with a live interactive demo that requires no signup. You can draw fence lines on real satellite maps, choose from 67 fence styles, add gates, and see instant cost estimates — completely free. The Free Forever plan includes 10 estimates and 5 quotes per month at no cost.
What is a virtual fence designer?
A virtual fence designer is software that lets you design and visualize fence layouts on a digital map before building. Visual Fence Pro is a virtual fence designer that uses real satellite imagery — type any US address, click property boundaries to place fence lines, choose materials and styles, and see exactly what you're building with instant cost breakdowns.
Is there a free fence visualizer?
Yes. Visual Fence Pro includes a free fence visualizer that shows your fence layout on real satellite maps. The interactive demo lets you visualize fence lines, gates, and property boundaries with no signup required. Choose from 67 fence styles across 5 categories — wood, vinyl, iron & aluminum, chain link, and composite — with railings coming soon.
What is the best fence drawing tool?
Visual Fence Pro is a fence drawing tool that lets you draw fence lines directly on satellite maps. Click property boundaries to auto-place fence, or switch to manual drawing mode. Drag endpoints to adjust, add gates with swing direction, and get real-time material calculations as you draw. Try the interactive demo free — no signup needed.
Is there free fence estimating software?
Yes. Visual Fence Pro offers free fence estimating software with a Free Forever plan that includes 10 estimates and 5 quotes per month. Draw fence lines on satellite maps, get automatic material takeoffs with posts, rails, pickets, concrete, and fasteners, and generate professional quotes — no credit card required.
Can I show my customer the fence before I build it?
Yes. Visual Fence Pro includes an AI Fence Visualizer that renders a photorealistic finished fence on the customer's property photo in about 20 seconds. Snap a phone photo on the site visit, pick a fence style, and the customer sees the actual finished result on their own yard before signing. Free plan includes 2 renders per day; Pro and Enterprise include 25 renders per day.
How does the AI fence visualizer work?
The AI Fence Visualizer takes two inputs: a photo of the customer's property and a fence style from the Visual Fence Pro catalog. The AI returns a photorealistic render of the finished fence on the actual property in approximately 20 seconds. The model is currently optimized for cedar dog-ear privacy and vinyl privacy styles. There is no drawing required — the AI handles placement, scale, lighting, and perspective from the photo.
What is the difference between the satellite map and the AI Visualizer?
The satellite map is for measuring and estimating: type any US address, click property boundaries to place fence lines, and get a real-footage bill of materials and price. The AI Fence Visualizer is for selling: snap a phone photo of the customer's yard and get a photorealistic render of the finished fence in about 20 seconds — no drawing required. Most contractors use both: satellite mapping at the office to scope and price the job, AI Visualizer on-site or in the truck to close the sale.
What is the 3D Build Visualizer?
The 3D Build Visualizer is an interactive WebGL model of the customer's fence, embedded directly inside their quote. Customers can spin, zoom, and scrub through a layer-by-layer assembly animation — footings, posts, brackets, rails, kickboard, pickets or boards, fasteners, and caps — to see exactly what they're paying for before they sign. Five privacy fence styles are currently modeled: cedar dog-ear, vinyl, board on board (with optional Cap & Trim picture-frame layer), horizontal, and shadow box / good-neighbor. Each style has its own production-accurate post types and hardware. Free to spin from the landing page; in-quote button is included on Pro and Enterprise plans.
Which fence styles have a 3D model?
Five privacy fence styles have a 3D model in the Visual Fence Pro Build Visualizer: cedar dog-ear privacy (Wood 4×4 PT, PostMaster+ steel, 2-3/8 inch round steel post types), vinyl privacy (5×5 routed-slot vinyl post with crimped rails and tongue-and-groove boards), wood board on board (three post types plus optional Cap & Trim picture-frame layer), wood horizontal privacy (4×4 PT with continuous u-channel and cedar face board, or PostMaster+ steel with predrilled flange holes and cedar face board), and wood shadow box / good-neighbor (alternating front and back picket rows on opposite rail faces with rail-width depth between rows). Other catalog styles — chain link, ornamental aluminum, composite, specialty vinyl, picket and lattice variants — are on the roadmap.
What is a board on board fence vs a shadow box fence?
Board on board has front pickets butted closely together with back pickets behind covering the small front gaps with significant overlap — it looks solid from any angle and provides full privacy. Shadow box (also called good-neighbor) alternates pickets on opposite faces of the rails with picket-width gaps between same-side pickets — the back pickets fill the front gaps with minimal overlap, creating a visible 'shadow' depth between rows. Shadow box looks identical from both sides (no 'bad' side facing the neighbor) but allows partial see-through at sharp angles. Both styles are modeled in the Visual Fence Pro 3D Build Visualizer with engineering-accurate dimensions.
How does the 3D fence viewer help close more sales?
Customers who can spin a 3D model of their fence sign quotes faster because the model removes ambiguity. They see the actual post type they're paying for (Wood 4×4 PT vs PostMaster+ steel vs 2-3/8 inch round steel), the bracket hardware, the rail configuration, the picket spacing, and the cap detail — all to spec. The build animation walks through each construction layer the way the contractor will actually install it. There is no guesswork left to second-guess at the kitchen table. The 3D Build Visualizer is included in customer quotes on Pro and Enterprise plans, and the customer link works on mobile.
Can I quote a property without satellite imagery?
Yes. Visual Fence Pro includes a Survey PDF Upload mode for pre-construction lots, raw land, and properties where dense tree cover blocks the satellite view. Upload a residential survey PDF (plot plan, land survey, or lot drawing up to 50 MB), set the scale by clicking two points on a known distance, and trace fence runs directly on the PDF. The bill of materials, gates, signed customer quote, and online payment all work exactly like satellite mode. Includes a Boards In / Boards Out toggle per fence section so neighbors who share a fence line can specify the orientation per side.
Is Visual Fence Pro free?
Yes, Visual Fence Pro offers a free version for fence design and visualization.
