Fence contractors have more software choices than ever. Some tools are built only for fencing; others are construction or field-service platforms that list fencing among their trades. This guide compares ten of them on the same questions: how you draw the job, whether the materials are counted for you, whether the customer can sign and pay online, and what each company publishes about its prices. Every statement about another company comes from its own website, checked on October 6, 2026.

What to Look for in Fence Estimating Software

Before diving into individual tools, here are the eight criteria that matter most when evaluating estimating software for a fencing business. Not every tool will check every box, so think about which of these are must-haves versus nice-to-haves for your operation.

1

Fence-Specific vs. General

Tools built for fencing understand post spacing, gate configurations, and per-linear-foot pricing natively. General contractor tools require you to build this logic yourself, which takes time and introduces errors.

2

Satellite Map Integration

Drawing fence lines on aerial imagery lets you measure properties remotely, prepare preliminary estimates before site visits, and show customers exactly where the fence will be placed.

3

Material Calculation Engine

Automatic material takeoffs based on fence length and style eliminate spreadsheet formulas. The best engines let you customize component templates for your preferred suppliers and local pricing.

4

Customer-Facing Quotes

Professional quote presentation matters. Look for tools that generate branded, clean quotes your customers can view on their phone or computer without needing to download anything.

5

E-Signatures & Payments

Collecting a digital signature and a deposit from the same link saves a round of back-and-forth. Eight of the ten tools here list both on their own websites; check which plan includes them.

6

Mobile Access

Whether it is a native app or a responsive web interface, you need to be able to create and send estimates from the field. Desktop-only tools slow you down on busy installation days.

7

CRM & Scheduling

Managing leads, tracking job status, and scheduling crews all from the same platform reduces tool sprawl. Some estimating tools include basic CRM features; others integrate with external CRMs.

8

Pricing Transparency

Nine of the ten publish their prices; JobNimbus asks you to request pricing. Several put material takeoffs, payments or extra users in higher plans, so price the plan that has what you need, not the starting price.

✓ = stated on the company’s own website on October 6, 2026. Not listed = we did not find it on the company’s own pages that night; it may still exist, so ask them. AI Visualizer means an AI picture of the finished fence: Visual Fence Pro paints it onto a photo of the customer’s yard; Bolster’s pricing page lists an “AI rendering tool”, and its home page says it “renders the finished job” without saying whether on a photo.

Key takeaway: Three of the ten are built only for fencing (Visual Fence Pro, Fence Cloud and Elite Technique), and a fourth, mySalesman, began as a fence tool for homeowner instant quotes. TRUE sells a fence module on top of a construction suite; ArcSite, JobNimbus, Jobber, Estimate Rocket and Bolster serve many trades, fencing among them. Eight of the ten list both e-signatures and payments, so the bigger differences are how you draw the job and how the materials get counted.

Detailed Tool Profiles

The tools are not ranked. Ours comes first because we make it; the rest run from the ones built around fencing to the multi-trade platforms. Words in quotation marks are each company’s own, from its website.

Fence Cloud

Best for: Fence companies that want a fence-only estimator with a CRM and shared calendars

Fence Cloud has been “Providing fence estimation solutions since the early 1980’s” and says it is “built specifically for fencing companies—unlike general construction software”. You indicate the fence you want to build, and it “calculates a complete and accurate fence material breakdown”; one of its own articles describes the site plan, material selections and background calculations working together. Around the estimate it has a CRM (“lead tracking, project management, advanced searches, activity logs, and contact management”), shared calendars, e-signatures on PDFs, and invoicing and ordering.

We did not find satellite drawing or customer online payments on its site. Its pricing page lists plans by team size, each with a Sign Up button, from $220 a month for up to 3 users.

Essential $220/mo (up to 3 users) · Professional $345 · Ultimate $545 · billed monthly

Pros

  • Built only for fencing, since the early 1980s
  • Published prices, with self-serve sign-up
  • E-signatures, invoicing and ordering in every plan

Elite Technique says it was “CREATED BY FENCE CONTRACTORS FOR FENCE CONTRACTORS”. You “draw your fence and gate design around the property” on the map, and “Elite Technique will automatically provide the quote, list of materials, adjust your inventory, and more.” Customers log in to a portal where your team can “receive electronic signatures, approvals, messages, and even payments instantly and all in one place.” It integrates with QuickBooks.

Its plans are published, each with a Start Now button: Starter is $200 a month for 2 users and 1 branch, up to Elite Multi Branch at $1,000, plus $25 per additional user on the larger plans and a one-time setup fee.

mySalesman

Best for: Letting homeowners price their own fence on your website before you call them

mySalesman describes itself as “a lead-qualifying tool”: homeowners type in their address, draw their fence on a satellite view of the property, and get an instant price. That figure “is an initial budget, not a final site-specific quote”, so your salesperson still finishes the quote in person. It started with fencing: “there had to be a better way for fence contractors to capture and qualify leads.”

It tracks every lead and the quote each one received, including people who stopped partway. We did not find a material list, e-signatures or payments on its site.

$175/mo per primary service · other trades $25/mo each · no contracts

Pros

  • Homeowners price their fence themselves, on your website
  • Unlimited users
  • A 30-day free trial

Cons

  • Gives a budget price, not a material list
  • E-signatures and payments: not listed
  • Built for the homeowner’s first price, not your final quote

ConstructTRUE (TRUE)

Best for: Contractors who want a full construction-management suite and will add its fence module

TRUE calls itself the “#1 Subcontractor Construction Management Software”: one suite (“CRM, Project Management, Schedules, Field Service, & Accounting”) sold to glass, fence, door hardware, paving and mechanical contractors. Fence estimating is TRUE Fence, “a separately licensed add-on module designed specifically for fence contractors”. With it you draw scaled plans or on satellite imagery (“TRUE Draw V2 (scaled) or V3 (unscaled with satellite imagery)”), and “The Post Type field enables TRUE Fence to automatically calculate line posts, corner posts, and end posts” for each fence.

Setup matters: its help center says “Building assemblies is critical for automatic material list generation.” eSign is in the core package, and with ePay a customer can pay by card from a proposal. Pricing is per user.

$99/mo first user + $39 each additional (annual cost) · monthly: $119 + $49 · $999 setup · TRUE Fence licensed separately

Pros

  • A whole business suite, not only estimating
  • Satellite drawing and automatic post counts (TRUE Fence)
  • E-signatures and card payments from proposals

Cons

  • The fence module is a separate license; ask TRUE for its price
  • Per-user pricing, plus a $999 setup
  • You build assemblies before the materials count automatically

ArcSite

Best for: Contractors who sketch to scale on a tablet and price from their own catalog

ArcSite is a mobile drawing app “Serving over 50+ industries”, with a fence estimator it says is “built for professional fence contractors”. You draw to scale on a tablet or phone, and can start a drawing “with a satellite image as a base, auto-calibrated for scale”. “ArcSite lets you upload and manage your own fence styles, SKUs, and pricing.” As you draw, it calculates the quantities and prices them into the estimate.

The plan decides what you get. Billed yearly: Draw Basic is $10 a month (“Ideal for DIYers”), Draw Pro $30 with satellite map access, Takeoff $99 with automated material takeoffs, and Estimates $129 with proposals, approvals, e-signatures and payments.

From $10/mo billed yearly · takeoffs from $99/mo · e-sign and payments $129/mo · 14-day trial

Pros

  • Precise scaled drawings in the field
  • Your own fence styles, SKUs and pricing
  • Drawing alone from $10–$30 a month (billed yearly)

Cons

  • Takeoffs need the $99 plan, and e-sign and payments the $129 plan
  • Not fence-only (50+ industries)
  • AI picture of the finished fence: not listed

JobNimbus

Best for: Contractors who want a CRM with boards and automations at the center

JobNimbus calls itself “the best-in-class CRM for contractors”. “Roofing and exterior contractors make up the core, from single-crew shops to multi-location teams running several sales crews”, and fencing is one of its listed industries. For fences, its mobile app has a Fence Measurements Tool: you measure the fence by “drawing lines on an overview map”. “With templates and measurements, JobNimbus will set the right material quantities automatically.”

Its help center notes that ready-made measurement tokens come for the Roofing and Wall categories; other categories, such as fence, you add yourself. Every package includes eSign and JobNimbus Payments. It does not publish prices: each plan says “Request pricing”.

Prices not published · four plans (Essentials, Pro, Premium, Enterprise) · request pricing

Pros

  • A full CRM with automations
  • Fence measuring on a map in its app
  • E-signatures and payments in every package

Cons

  • Prices not published
  • Fence measurement tokens are yours to set up (Roofing and Wall come ready)

Best for: Small crews that want scheduling, quoting and invoicing for a low monthly price

“Jobber is field service management software for service businesses—from solo operators to multi-crew operations”, and “serves 50+ industries across residential and commercial work”, with a fence software page. Quotes are built from line items (“Line items can be added from your products and services list, or added as a custom line item”), and Jobber AI drafts quotes. When the customer is ready, “they can approve, request a change, pay a deposit, or provide a signature online.”

For measuring, its help center gives two ways: Jobber’s Deep Lawn integration, or Google Maps and custom fields. We did not find a material calculation on its site.

  • Signature and deposit in the client hub
  • Scheduling, dispatching and online booking

Best for: Contractors who quote several trades from one system

Estimate Rocket is “an all-in-one project management and estimating platform built for growth-minded service and trade contractors”, with “Ready to use templates for 57+ trades” and fence services among the trades it lists. It can “Auto-calculate materials, labor, and totals with Production Rate estimating.” Proposals go out by text or email for an e-signature (“Get instant approvals with built-in e-sign”), and customers can pay invoices by card, ACH or financing.

Each plan includes a set number of users, with more added per user, and every plan includes training and onboarding. We did not find satellite drawing on its site.

On its pro and premium plans, the takeoff tool lets you “Plan your jobs however you want - by using a plan, satellite imagery, or start drawing from scratch”, and the pricing page lists an “AI rendering tool”. Every plan lists “AI estimating, image and options generation”.

Customers sign “digitally signable contracts” and pay online; Bolster lists card rates of 2.99% to 3.99%. It tracks job costs against the budget, schedules crews, and reports on margins.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is fence estimating software?

Fence estimating software helps fence contractors measure a job, count the materials, price the labor and send the customer a professional quote. Some platforms are built only for fencing; others are construction or field-service tools that list fencing among their trades. Useful features include a material list counted for you, a quote page the customer can open on a phone, and online signatures and payments.

What is the best fence estimating software?

It depends on how you work. If you want to draw on a satellite map and have the materials counted, look at the tools whose own sites list both: Visual Fence Pro, Elite Technique, TRUE with its TRUE Fence add-on, ArcSite on its Takeoff plan, and Bolster on its pro plan; Fence Cloud counts the materials from a site plan you draw. If your business runs on a CRM, look at JobNimbus or Jobber; if you quote several trades, Estimate Rocket or Bolster. We make Visual Fence Pro, so weigh our view accordingly: the comparison table shows what each company’s own site says.

How much does fence estimating software cost?

Published starting prices for the ten tools here run from free (Visual Fence Pro’s Free plan) and $10 a month (ArcSite’s drawing plan for DIYers, billed yearly) up to $220 a month (Fence Cloud, for up to 3 users). Top published plans reach $1,000 a month (Elite Technique’s Multi Branch). JobNimbus does not publish prices. Many charge by the number of users, and several put material takeoffs or payments in higher plans.

Do I need fence-specific software or can I use general contractor software?

General platforms can quote fences: ArcSite, JobNimbus, Jobber, Estimate Rocket and Bolster all have fence pages or list fencing among their trades. Fence-specific tools come with fence logic already in place, such as posts by spacing, gates and per-foot pricing. Either way, expect to load your own products and prices: even the fence-oriented tools need setup (TRUE’s help center says building assemblies is critical for automatic material lists, and Elite Technique charges a one-time setup fee).

Can fence estimating software calculate materials automatically?

Yes. Of the ten here, eight say on their own sites that they count materials for you, some only on certain plans or add-ons: Visual Fence Pro, Fence Cloud, Elite Technique, TRUE (TRUE Fence add-on), ArcSite (Takeoff plan), JobNimbus (from your templates and measurements), Estimate Rocket and Bolster. Look for one that lets you load your own products and prices, so the list matches what you buy.

What features should fence contractors look for in estimating software?

Key features to look for include automatic material calculation, customer-facing quote presentation, digital e-signatures, integrated payment collection, satellite map integration for remote measuring, mobile access for field work, and CRM capabilities for tracking leads and jobs. Pricing transparency and the ability to customize your product catalog and markup are also important.

Is there free fence estimating software?

Yes, with limits. Visual Fence Pro has a Free plan with no credit card: 10 estimates and 5 quotes a month, with e-signatures. Others offer free trials: ArcSite for 14 days, Estimate Rocket and mySalesman for 30 days. Spreadsheets are free too, but you build and check every formula yourself.

How do satellite maps help with fence estimating?

Satellite maps let you draw the fence on aerial imagery of the property before you visit, so you can measure from the office, prepare a first estimate, and show the customer where the fence will go. Some tools also load the property lines onto the map.

Can customers sign quotes and pay online with fence software?

With most of the tools here, yes. Eight of the ten list both e-signatures and payments on their own sites: Visual Fence Pro (e-sign on every plan, payments on Pro and Enterprise), Elite Technique, TRUE (with ePay), ArcSite (Estimates plan), JobNimbus, Jobber, Estimate Rocket and Bolster. Fence Cloud lists e-signatures and invoicing; we did not find either on mySalesman’s site.

What is the difference between Fence Cloud and Visual Fence Pro?

Fence Cloud has provided fence estimating since the early 1980s and is built only for fencing: it calculates the materials for a site plan you draw, with a CRM, calendars, e-signatures and invoicing, from $220 a month for up to 3 users. Visual Fence Pro is a newer platform with satellite map-based fence drawing, automatic material calculation from drawn lines, and an integrated customer portal with e-signatures and payments, starting with a free plan. Its online payments are on the Pro and Enterprise plans. Our Visual Fence Pro vs Fence Cloud page compares them in detail.

How to Choose the Right Tool

With ten options on the table, here is a practical way to narrow it down. Start with the problem costing you the most time.

If you are a small crew watching cost, price the plan that has the features you need, not the starting price. Jobber’s Core plan is $29 a month billed annually for one user; ArcSite’s drawing plans run $10 to $30 a month, but its material takeoffs are on the $99 plan and e-sign and payments on the $129 plan; Visual Fence Pro has a free plan, and paid plans from $79 a month (currently $39).

If counting materials is your biggest pain point, look at the tools that describe fence logic on their own sites: Visual Fence Pro, Fence Cloud (it uses “fence industry standards to show exactly how many posts, fittings, gates, panels, and accessories are necessary”), Elite Technique, and TRUE’s fence module (its Post Type field calculates “line posts, corner posts, and end posts”). Then run one of your past jobs through each and compare its list with what you actually used.

If you want the customer to sign and pay from the quote, eight of the ten list both. On Visual Fence Pro, e-sign is on every plan and payments are on Pro and Enterprise; on ArcSite, both are in the Estimates plan.

If you run several crews and an office, look at the CRM and field-service tools: JobNimbus (boards, automations, and customers from “single-crew shops to multi-location teams”), Jobber (scheduling and dispatching across crews) and Bolster (estimates tied to budgets, schedules and job costs).

If you run several trades alongside fencing, Estimate Rocket (templates for 57+ trades), Bolster and ArcSite (50+ industries) handle them in one system.

We also compare Visual Fence Pro one-to-one with Fence Cloud, JobNimbus, FencePro.ai, QuoteIQ and Builder Prime.
